Margaret I. (Peggy) Penland is Broker in Charge and Owner of Houndslake Realty. Peggy is native to Aiken and grew up learning land development and sales from her father, Robert Penland, who developed many of the subdivisions in and around Aiken, including Houndslake Country Club.

Peggy graduated from the University of South Carolina. She also studied quite a bit in France and is fluent in French. She started her real estate career in the late 70's and at one time owned a Coldwell Banker franchise in Aiken. When she sold that company, she worked with her father in the development and sales of the Houndslake Community, which led to the formation of Houndslake Realty.

Peggy is married to Brendan Gilligan, owner of Foxchase Stables. They have one son, Benjamin, who is now 14 and attending 8th grade Mead Hall Episcopal School - Aiken Prep Campus. Peggy likes to spend her off hours with her family, and is an active participant in community affairs. However, she is as dedicated to her clients as ever, and is dedicated to completing the vision of her parents for the Houndslake Community. Foxwood Falls, a condominium project located in the heart of Houndslake will soon become a reality.
